FINANCING INSIGHTS

Choosing a financing source after a bank decline

First understand the reason for the decision. The next step depends on the constraint.

A decline can reflect cash flow, collateral, policy, timing or an incomplete explanation. Ask for the specific reasons and review the financial information against the proposed structure.

A revised bank request, a government-guaranteed program, private market debt or an asset-based facility might be worth evaluating. Each has different eligibility, costs, reporting and repayment considerations.

The next conversation should address the identified issue directly. Sending the same package without a better explanation often repeats the same questions.
